Welcome to Alberta Beach Activities

Alberta Beach Active 50 Plus Club Community Activities offers a huge variety of social activities, fosters friendships & strengthens bonds of companionship for our community adults, seniors, and their families.

Our modern facility the Heritage Centre at 5012 – 49 Avenue (P.O. Box 263, Alberta Beach, Ab T0E 0A0) (See Hall Rental) is available to the membership and can be rented for weddings, anniversaries, dinners, and a range of activities for all ages.

We believe that our Community Heritage Centre also provides an atmosphere of security, belonging, and well being to our membership. We are proud of it and welcome you to join in our programs and projects.

Situated in the community of Alberta Beach, Alberta, this small recreation village sits on the beautiful Lac Ste Anne Lake once named Wakamne or God’s Lake by the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation. Alberta Beach is a short 45 minutes west and north of Edmonton, Alberta.

Alberta Beach and District 50+ Club Update as of October 20, 2020

Following are some updates and messages from Bob Clark, the President of our Club:

On October 13th the new Board met for the first time to discuss club activities and plans. Here are some of the items discussed:

The alarm system has been upgraded with a new keypad.  Those members who have access codes please check them out as some don’t seem to be working properly. The hall is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays after 9:00 AM for aerobics and this would be a time you could try out your access code.   Only members who are currently hosting weekly events will have access codes and keys to the hall.

Depending on the COVID status, we are planning on having the following events:

Saturday, November 14: Dine and maybe dance.
Friday, December 11: Christmas Party
Saturday, February 13, 2021

SnoMo Days Supper

Because of the limited number of people allowed at the November and December events, only members will be eligible to purchase tickets. Keep an eye on the LSA Bulletin and our internal email system for ticket sales and further information.

Our Casino date is fast approaching in November and those who have volunteered will be called shortly with their scheduled times. Hopefully, this will generate sufficient funds for the future.

Thanks to Lac Ste. Anne County, we have received two grants, one for $3,000.00 and one for $1,000.00. These can be used for utility bills and incidental purchases such as those items required for operating within the COVID guidelines.

Happy Hour & Fellowship Time

We’d like to invite people who are interested in social fellowship and sharing of ideas to a meeting on Thursday, October 22 @ 4 pm.  It will be held in our hall. We will be discussing ideas about how to support those in our community who are living alone/feeling lonely thru the COVID pandemic that is quite likely going to continue into the winter months.

Our format will take the form of a happy hour, with the bar open.  Individually packaged small snacks will be available. We are asking folks who come to please wear a mask. Social distance seating will be offered and once all are sitting, we will unmask so we can eat, drink and share in fellowship & ideas.

Everyone is warmly welcomed to attend and please call or text Cydney at 780-298-2755 to register, so we can be sure we have all the proper arrangements made. Many thanks and looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces at that meeting!
